Myofascial Release Therapy is a technique that addresses the uneven tension in the fascia surrounding the muscle and visceral structures of the body. When muscle fibres are injured, or muscle imbalance exists in the body, this fascia can become tight and shortened. This can impede circulation, reduce the biomechanical efficiency of the body and negatively impact athletic performance. If left unattended, this state will inevitably lead to pain and dysfunction.
Here at ACP Rehab we combine hands-on, manual therapy techniques with Self Myofascial Release to release the fascia and increase the elasticity and flexiblity of both fascial and muscle tissue. This allows our clients to experience optimal biomechanics, peak performance and injury prevention. We use anything from Trigger Point Therapy tools, foam rollers, tennis balls, golf balls, rolling pins and more to teach clients to use these techniques on their own to best help themselves. By giving our clients the tools and the knowledge to help themselves, we are helping pave the way to a pain-free, active lifestyle.
